Thank you! And hey, neuroscience is pretty awesome. I got my degree in history, taught English for a few years overseas and when I moved back to the US decided I didn’t want to continue in my education with history (I was originally a biochem major). So when I returned to school I made a good impression on my professors and got offered TA positions in anatomy and chemistry. My (now former) physiology professor asked if I’d be interested in joining her research group, and both the professor I TA for in anatomy as well as the bio lab tech (who has years of experience in cadaver dissection and is truly an artist at it) asked if I would like to assist them this year with it. What’s amazing is that all of this happened over the span of about 10 months. Lesson learned: hard work pays off (and it doesn’t hurt if you can make them laugh).
